Custom Rolling & Forming of a Steel Emission StackA customer in the utility industry approached us with the fabrication of this exhaust stack. The unit was to be used as part of a much larger emission control system. At Sunbelt Fabricators, Inc. we specialize in large scale steel fabrication, and this project was no exception. The stack which was composed of A-36 carbon steel, and measured 62′ in length, it had a diameter of 6′, with material thicknesses of .250″ to .375″.

Each section of the stack was cut with our CNC burning equipment, then rolled and formed. Assembly was done using flux core arc welding (FCAW); each step included visual and dimensional inspections to maintain the dimensional accuracy that the customer required. After assembly the entire unit was painted with urethane paint. For more details on this project, see the table below.
